Chayleigh Wheeler
Occupational Therapy Assistant
Chayleigh Wheeler is an Occupational Therapy Assistant who works under the clinical supervision of our Specialist Occupational Therapists. She has experience supporting young people with anxiety, social communication and participation difficulties, using a person-centred and strengths-based approach.
Working within the Person–Environment–Occupation (PEO) framework, Chayleigh supports young people to develop the practical skills and confidence needed for greater independence in everyday life. Her work includes promoting successful access to college and education, developing community participation, encouraging healthy lifestyle routines, building independence in daily living activities, and supporting an understanding of relationship safety and personal wellbeing. As the mother of two young children, Chayleigh also brings a valuable parent perspective to her role. Like many families, she is navigating the education system and understands both the opportunities and the challenges that parents can encounter. This lived experience enhances her empathy, communication and ability to build positive, collaborative relationships with children, young people and their families.
Chayleigh delivers intervention programmes designed by the Occupational Therapist, ensuring that therapeutic strategies are embedded into meaningful, real-life activities that help young people achieve their individual goals and maximise their independence.
